    Making a humble beginning the Foundation, through the donations made by its members,
   their families and friends, has been able to achieve the following:

PROFILING:

     To identify the most deserving amongst a population of over 15,000 spread over 18 villages and hamlets
     of the area a general survey, through a Performa prepared by the Foundation, was conducted by
     volunteers and subsequently the profile of the target area was compiled. Based on the survey the
     Foundation, making a humble beginning, through donations by family members and friends, has
     endeavored to gradually achieve its objectives, as meaningfully as possible, by undertaking the following
     projects:

(A) - ASSISTANCE TO DESTITUTES / WIDOWS:

Families having no bread earner; old couples/singles and widows with minor kids were provided sustenance through the year.  Similarly widows, young orphan girls and an earthquake victim Kashmiri family, having a know-how of sewing vocation were provided with sewing machines to enable them to earn their livin
g.

(B) - FIRST STEP PROJECT:

    Under this scheme young girls in poor families are to be imparted primary education/vocational
    training. The Foundation made a beginning for providing primary education /sewing training in
    two make-shift centers
(at village New Islamabad and Basti Bahbal Khan), by supplying free elementary
    books and
sewing machines along with accessories at each location. For encouragement the girl
    students are being supplied with monthly ration while the instructor girls are being paid an
    honorarium. Two more such locations are under consideration.
However, the Vocational
    Centre being the key project the Foundation has got the site plan of the center ready while the land has
    also been donated by the Foundation Chairman. The construction on a modest facility is likely to start after
    sufficient funds are available
.

 

(C) - RAH NUMA LIFE PARTNER:

    
     Financial support was provided to a couple of poor families for the marriage/dowry of their daughters.
     Some more such applications are under scrutiny.
 

(D) - RAMDHAN / EID PACKAGE:
 

     To enable the poor to participate in the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr a package, consisting of basic
     necessities like flour, sugar, cooking oil and clothing with some cash was provided to over fifty
     poor individuals
, selected on the basis of the survey. The Foundation utilized this occasion to also invite
     community leaders to encourage them to emulate the social work being undertaken by the Foundation.

(E) - ASSISTANCE TO EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS:

   
    Responding to the calamity resulting from the destructive earthquake of the 8th October, 2005, the
    Foundation took upon itself to solicit donations to provide relief & succor to the earthquake victims.
    By Allah’s grace it was able, with the help of donations in cash and kind to provide 450 tents, 160
    blankets, 400 warm bedding, 5 ton rations consisting of flour, rice, cooking oil etc., clothing, milk, biscuits
    & medicines for children, tent school books, pedestal fans and arrangement for accommodation including
    rations for a Kashmiri family. A Kashmiri college student is also being supported financially for his education.

(F) - FREE MOBILE DISPENSARY / MEDICAL CAMPS:


   
The Foundation has started arranging free mobile medical camps on almost monthly basis, depending upon
    the availability of doctors, in different villages in the area. The first camp was arranged on the 16th April at
    Basti New Islamabad, the second on the 21st May at village Rari Mallaykay and the third on the 23rd June,
    2006 at village 60/SP. A team of two to three doctors including a lady doctor with six to eight
    attendants male nurses attended to 135, 198 and 214 patients respectively. Free medicines were
    provided to all patients.

    To arrange for the hospitalization of very poor patients the Foundation has signed an agreement with
    a newly setup private hospital i.e. Ghulam Muhammad Memorial Hospital, Pakpattan. The hospital authorities
    have agreed to provide medical and surgical services to patients referred to them by the Foundation
    on reduced rates. Recently
a very poor young patient who broke his spine and was lying
    unattended at home for the last many months has been admitted in the hospital and is being
    treated at the expense of the Foundation
.

(G) - PLASTIC SURGERY:
 

     In coordination with Bashir Hospital in Gujrat in the Punjab Province, the Foundation was able to get an 18
     year old person operated for Cleft Lip & Pallet. It is noteworthy that this specialized operation is
     conducted by a team of British surgeons / nurses visiting Bashir Hospital twice a year.

    
    
(H) -
 FREE EYE CAMPS:

  
  The first free eye camp was arranged in the area on the 8th November, 2005 where 135 patients were
     checked by a senior Eye Surgeon, who recommended eye operations to 42 males / females. All patients
     were provided with free eye drops & related medicine. As it was not possible to carry out operations in
     the camp an arrangement was made with Qasim Eye Hospital at Pakpattan for providing necessary services
     at concessional rates. 38 poor patients subsequently got their eye surgery & the Foundation picked up
     the bill for operations / lenses.

     The second free eye camp was held on the 16th April, 2006 in which 78 patients were checked and
     provided free medicines. 22 patients, recommended for eye operation, are being operated upon in
     batches.

 

     (I) - RAH-NUMA VETERINARY SERVICES:

      By engaging a qualified veterinary assistant the Foundation has started providing free veterinary services
      along with quality vaccines for the live stock of small farmers to save them from possible losses which
      they used to sustain every year.

 

    (J) - EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE & SOFT LOANS:
 

     Despite financial constraints the Foundation has started supporting very poor but promising students at
     school and college level and has also provided a soft loan to a needy MBA student of Comsats University,
     Lahore. Further such assistance will depend upon his scores in terminal exams.
